WhatsApp is rolling out a new feature that allows users to invite people without the app to join calls via shareable links. The feature works by having registered users open the calls tab, tap the "+" icon, generate a link, and share it with anyone they want to invite.
Recipients can open the link in their web browser, enter their name, and wait for the host to approve them before joining. Once approved, they can participate in individual or group calls with up to 32 participants, with no time limits on the conversation. This removes a major barrier to WhatsApp calls for people who haven't downloaded or created an account on the platform.
