The US Justice Department has compelled Microsoft and Discord to cooperate with Take-Two Interactive, owner of Rockstar Games, to identify those responsible for recent GTA VI leaks. Both companies must deliver user data by September 4, including IP addresses, emails, phone numbers, account IDs, device histories, and OneDrive files to help track down the hackers or group known as "CyberLeek."
Evidence suggests the attackers possess a playable build of the game and its complete source code. The leaked materials include images of the full map, videos demonstrating combat mechanics, an apparent fuel system, police behavior, and vehicle controls. The group appears to have released this information as a protest against the gaming industry, citing the discontinuation of physical media and what they consider abusive pricing on pre-orders.
