Microsoft has released a fix for a Windows 11 issue that prevented certain games from launching or caused them to freeze with an "EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION" error. The problem stemmed from RGB-enabled peripherals and internal components that installed drivers or components with names similar to "inpoutx64."
RGB lighting devices—including keyboards, mice, and other accessories—could inadvertently trigger these driver conflicts, leaving gamers unable to play. The update is now rolling out to all consumer devices, addressing the underlying compatibility issue between the operating system and these third-party components.
