Meta Transfers React, React Native, and JSX to New React Foundation

Meta is transferring the stewardship of React, React Native, and JSX to a newly formed React Foundation, an entity associated with the Linux Foundation.

The React Foundation will be managed by seven corporate members, including Amazon, Microsoft, Expo, Vercel, and Meta itself. Its mission is to ensure the continued growth and stability of the React ecosystem.

Seth Webster, currently leading the React team at Meta, will serve as the first Executive Director. An independent technical governance structure will be established to prevent any single vendor from having dominant control over the framework’s direction. Source: The Register.
