Unlike many existing platforms, this product will exist outside the ecosystem of Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp. Inspired by the rising popularity of services like Polymarket and Kalshi, the app allows users to forecast outcomes on various global events.
To maintain a distinct user experience, the platform is launching with a points-based system reminiscent of video game mechanics rather than real currency. While the initial focus is on gamified engagement, Meta has not ruled out the possibility of integrating real-money betting in future iterations. This move signals a significant strategic shift toward interactive, data-driven speculation markets.
