Despite the compelling evidence presented by Carreyrou, Adam Back continues to deny the claims. He attributes the similarities to coincidence and maintains that he lacked the necessary technical knowledge at the time of Bitcoin's inception. While the mystery of Satoshi Nakamoto remains, the link between Hashcash and Bitcoin keeps Back at the center of the debate.
