Gmail Ends Support for External POP3 and Gmailify Accounts

Google is phasing out support for third-party email accounts configured via POP3 and the Gmailify feature within Gmail.

While users can still access external inboxes through the Gmail app, the service will no longer automatically import messages from these third-party providers. Previously, Gmailify allowed users to bridge non-Google accounts (like Yahoo or Outlook) to enjoy Gmail-specific features, including advanced spam protection and automated inbox organization.

According to reports from The Register, this change marks a shift in how the platform handles external mail integration. Users relying on these methods for unified inbox management will need to seek alternative syncing methods or access their accounts directly through the original providers.
