Ferrari's First Electric Car Exceeds Annual Sales Target in Just Two Months

Ferrari has already surpassed its annual sales goal for the Luce, its first electric vehicle, in just two months. The Italian luxury brand expected to sell fewer than 500 units of the $630,000 car and hit that target early this month.

The achievement stands in sharp contrast to the negative reception the Luce received when it launched in May. Critics took aim at the vehicle's design—created by Apple's former chief design officer Jony Ive and designer Marc Newson—and questioned Ferrari's value proposition when Chinese electric vehicles could offer better performance at a fraction of the price.

Despite the skepticism from automotive enthusiasts and tech observers, Ferrari's customers have voted with their wallets. The rapid sellout suggests that Ferrari's brand loyalty and target demographic remain largely immune to comparisons with mass-market EV competitors, even as the company makes its bold shift into electrification.
