Cloudflare has released Kitesurf, a headless browser designed specifically for AI agents. Unlike traditional browsers built on Chromium, Kitesurf eliminates the graphical interface to prioritize performance and reduce token consumption, allowing AI systems to navigate the web with greater efficiency and lower computational overhead.
The browser runs in the cloud and is currently available for free in beta through Cloudflare's Browser Run platform. By removing the visual layer and focusing on core web interaction capabilities, Kitesurf enables AI agents to browse faster and consume fewer resources—a critical advantage for applications that need to process large volumes of web data or interact with multiple sites simultaneously.
