ByteDance, the parent company of TikTok, is reportedly developing a massive artificial intelligence model with 10 trillion parameters to compete directly with Anthropic's Claude. The scale would match Claude's size while exceeding the largest open-source model currently available—Kimi K3—by more than three times, which stands at 2.8 trillion parameters.
The project remains in early pre-training stages with no announced launch timeline. According to TNW, ByteDance is positioning this effort as a significant play in the escalating competition among tech giants to build increasingly capable large language models.
