AMD has secured a major partnership with Anthropic centered on GPU supply and infrastructure investment. The deal grants Anthropic access to up to 2 gigawatts of computational capacity—equivalent to the energy consumption of 7.5 million Brazilian homes—to expand training and deployment infrastructure for Claude.
Under the agreement, AMD can invest up to $5 billion in Anthropic and integrate Claude's technology into its own product development. This arrangement underscores the growing competition among chip manufacturers to secure positions in the AI infrastructure market, as major AI labs demand ever-larger quantities of specialized hardware to train and run large language models.
