Global artificial intelligence spending is projected to hit $2.67 trillion in 2026, representing a 49.5% increase from 2025, according to Gartner forecasts. The largest share—$1.48 trillion—will flow into AI infrastructure, driven by servers, semiconductors, and networks built to handle AI workloads. Growth is expected to accelerate further in 2027, when total market spending could reach $3.64 trillion worldwide.
Two segments stand out for their explosive growth. AI-powered cybersecurity is nearly doubling from $25.90 billion in 2025 to $51.30 billion in 2026, then climbing to approximately $86 billion in 2027—a 67.5% jump year-over-year. Meanwhile, AI agents and assistants are projected to more than double from $29.20 billion in 2026 to $65.50 billion in 2027.
This spending shift reflects a fundamental change in how organizations approach AI. Investments are moving beyond experimentation phases into mission-critical operations, with heavy emphasis on infrastructure, automation, and security.
