X has introduced Chat, a new encrypted messaging service offering end-to-end encryption for direct messages. However, the service currently does not cover metadata or "man-in-the-middle" attacks. Additional security tools are in development to address these vulnerabilities.
Chat provides users the ability to send messages, make voice and video calls, and share files seamlessly. The service is now available as an update on iOS devices and the web. An Android version is expected to launch soon.
