Uber is rolling out a new safety feature that allows parents to watch their teenager's ride in real-time through the driver's front-facing camera. When a trip is assigned to a teen rider, the parent or guardian receives a notification and can tune in to live video directly from the app.
Both the driver and teen passenger are notified when a parent is viewing the stream. The video feed is not saved or available after the ride ends, ensuring it's only captured during active trips. The feature is currently available in the United States with no announced timeline for expansion to other countries.
