A startup called Operation Bluebird has launched a new social network called Twitter.now, arguing that X has abandoned the Twitter brand. Last year, X pursued legal action to block the launch, but an April court ruling suggested the company may have relinquished claims to "tweet," the bird logo, and the "Twitter" trademark itself.
While the judge has not yet issued a formal written decision, the preliminary indication was enough for co-founder Stephen Coates to move forward. Legal experts predict this won't be the end of the dispute—they expect X to mount a fresh challenge to the new platform's operation and branding.
