Spotify Music Scraped: 86 Million Tracks Now Public

Anna's Archive has announced it successfully scraped Spotify's entire music library. The group claims to have collected 86 million music files, representing approximately 99% of in-app plays, and metadata for around 256 million tracks.

This extensive dataset includes details on artists, albums, genres, and playlists. The material is being distributed via torrents, totaling nearly 300 TB, making it the largest publicly available music metadata database.

Spotify is currently investigating the incident, stating the group employed "illicit tactics" to circumvent its content protection systems. Information sourced from Anna's Archive and Billboard.
