SpaceXAI Launches Grok 4.5: More Powerful and Efficient AI Model

SpaceXAI announced Grok 4.5, its first significant model update since going public weeks ago. The company positioned the new model as an industry workhorse designed to automate tasks across AI-driven workflows—from software coding and app development to administrative work, clerical functions, research, and technical or creative writing.

The core advantage is delivering high-capacity results at lower operational cost. SpaceXAI claims Grok 4.5 achieves twice the token efficiency of competing leading systems. Elon Musk described it on X as an Opus-class model, referencing Anthropic's LLM known for handling complex tasks. He highlighted that Grok 4.5 is faster, more token-efficient, and cheaper to run than alternatives. According to Musk's internal assessments, it matches Opus 4.7 performance while executing significantly faster—a critical competitive edge.

Pricing is set at $2 per million input tokens and $6 per million output tokens, positioning it competitively against rivals. The launch comes ahead of OpenAI's planned GPT 5.6 release, which the company also promises will be its most robust model yet.
