SpaceX and Qualcomm have announced a partnership to deploy 5G infrastructure for Starlink Mobile across the United States. The agreement leverages Qualcomm's Dragonwing technology, a specialized line developed specifically for mobile network infrastructure, integrated into SpaceX's satellite constellation to enable direct connections to mobile phones.
The first deployments are scheduled to begin in 2027. This collaboration combines Qualcomm's expertise in cellular technology with SpaceX's satellite network, creating a unified system where ground-based 5G stations work seamlessly with the Starlink satellite array to provide nationwide coverage.
