OpenAI has released the Decisions API, a new tool that delivers responses up to 97% faster than its standard Responses API. Rather than returning natural language text, it provides typed and probabilistic decisions—similar to TypeSafe AI's Jev framework.
The API runs on a modified version of ChatGPT Luna and cuts response times dramatically, from one to three seconds down to 100–180 milliseconds. This makes it practical for applications requiring near-instant structured outputs. Pricing is competitive at $0.10 per million input tokens, with no charge for output tokens.
