Microsoft Launches Free Access to OpenAI’s Sora Video Generator on Bing Mobile App

Microsoft has officially introduced the Sora video generation tool — developed by OpenAI — for free on its Bing mobile app, marking the first time the public can try Sora without cost.

Users can now create up to ten video clips using the “fast mode” feature. After reaching this limit, generating new clips in fast mode will require 100 Microsoft Rewards points per video. Alternatively, users can continue creating content using the “standard speed” mode without using points.

Each video generated lasts 5 seconds and follows a vertical 9:16 format, aligning perfectly with platforms like Instagram Stories, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts. The initial rollout is exclusive to the Bing mobile app, highlighting Microsoft’s ongoing effort to integrate cutting-edge AI tools into its ecosystem.

This launch not only showcases the capabilities of OpenAI’s Sora in the hands of everyday users, but also reinforces Microsoft’s strategy of making advanced AI tools more accessible through familiar platforms.
