Meta is testing robots to handle maintenance tasks across its US data centers. According to employees, one machine trained specifically for swapping network cables could take on up to 80% of the workload currently handled by human technicians.
The robotic systems being deployed include a robotic arm designed to restart equipment or cut power when needed, and a four-wheeled robot equipped with a lifting platform and a six-axis arm for reinstalling components.
