Google has made SynthID publicly available, its technology for detecting content generated by artificial intelligence. The tool works with images, videos, and audio created by AI models from OpenAI, Nvidia, and Google itself, with support for Apple models coming soon.
The platform operates under a daily quota of approximately 10 verifications per user. To prevent the development of tools designed to remove SynthID markers, the system implements early blocking when analyzing multiple very similar images, making it harder to reverse-engineer the detection mechanism.
