No Link Between Video Games, Social Media, and Teen Mental Health: Major UK Study

A new UK study tracking over 25,000 students aged 11-14 for three years found no relation between video games, social media use, and mental health problems like anxiety or depression in adolescents.

Higher frequency of gaming or social media didn’t increase symptoms. Researchers from the University of Manchester stress that while negative online experiences can harm teen well-being, technology use alone isn’t the culprit.
