Called the Open Web Index, this project seeks to create a publicly accessible, open index of the internet that includes archives and web pages. The initiative’s first public test is scheduled to begin next month. Participants will have access to around 1 petabyte of data—a massive collection of internet content. In its final form, the Open Web Index is expected to contain approximately 5 petabytes, with plans to expand to 10 petabytes in the future.
