Polish researchers uncovered DynoWiper, a novel wiper malware, in a late December cyberattack on the country’s power grid. The attack, linked to the notorious Sandworm hacking group, targeted communications between renewable energy facilities and electricity distributors.
DynoWiper was designed to permanently erase data and systems, disrupting critical infrastructure. Despite the breach, the operation failed for unknown reasons, preventing widespread outages.
