A new study shows the Apple Watch is more effective at detecting atrial fibrillation (AFib) than standard care, especially for high-risk groups.
Researchers tracked 437 participants aged 65+ with elevated stroke risk over six months. Of these:
- 219 used the Apple Watch for about 12 hours daily.
- 218 received traditional care.
Results: 21 AFib diagnoses in the Apple Watch group vs. just 5 in the standard care group.
